Jury Duty

Sorry everyone that I haven't posted in a while.

Well, guess where I was for my Golden 30th birthday - serving as a juror on in a criminal trial. I must say that I was slightly perturbed considering that I was late for my own birthday party. However, I am extremely glad that I had the opportunity to do my civic duty.

I was very fascinated to see our justice system at work first hand and this experience has solidified my belief that we have the greatest justice system in the world. I say this even after seven hours of deliberation which resulted in a mistrial - we could not come to a unanimous decision as to the verdict. I was lucky in that my service lasted only three days as opposed to weeks, but I would have been glad to serve under those circumstances also.
